Is my privacy protected under the Charter?

Yes. Under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms:

Section 7 protects

your right to security and liberty, which can include your choice not to share your sexual orientation or gender identity.

Section 8 protects

you from unreasonable invasions of privacy.

Whether or not a school is required to keep personal information private depends on the province that you reside in.
